I shall be adding more details... I saw a documentory last night about the battle of the somme.
I was left these images by the family that lived in my house. John on the left was killed when leaving the trench on the first day of the battle of the somme 1916, the day before his 21st birthday.
I was fascinated by thier story and their poetry. The references to god and heaven and hell.The war ended the Arts and crafts movement,which used many words to do with god and symbols from the church, medival and gothic...The end of innocence.
I have visited the battle fields in france on my buying trips and found many articles of this war that I shall add later.
